FY 09-10 Budget approved by Exec Committee

Quick Education Committee budget update : the $5500 proposed budget has been cut to $3500 for the FY 09-10 which will have bearing on the projects that we will be able to support. This may change after next week's City of LA- Budget and Finance meeting where it is possible that the Neighborhood Council budget is cut from $45,000/year to $11,500/year. Please attend next week's 5/13 6pm meeting to help decide where this money will go if you would like it spent somewhere in particular. The meeting's location has not been finalized but will likely be at Arda's cafe on 6th/Olive.

IMPORTANT: The city is considering slashing our budget to $11,500 because not all Neighborhood Councils are using their budget effectively-- but we are! Please TAKE ACTION to help prevent the city from cutting our budget by 80% by spending 10-20 minutes doing the following:
1- Use the contact info list below to email your city council member
2- Send your thoughts on this topic to the mayor mayor@lacity.org
3- Send your thoughts on this topic to the budget and finance committee
